Job Summary | Job Summary Under minimal supervision, responsible for division operations pertaining to clinical management, administrative, financial, personnel, and organizational functions of the Divisions of Pediatric Endocrinology and Pediatric Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine. In collaboration with the Division Chief and Department Administration, provides strategic support and leadership in planning, developing, and implementing new programs to advance the mission and goals of the division, and ensures ongoing quality of service in existing clinical and research programs. Assists in evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures; recommends changes when necessary and assists in implementation of new processes. Acts as a catalyst between the division and its customers and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service and care. The Department of Pediatrics is the second largest department in the University of Utah School of Medicine and one of the largest pediatric departments in the country. Responsibilities | Essential Functions The Division Administrator is responsible for the administrative, financial, personnel, and clinical management of the Divisions of Pediatric Endocrinology and Pediatric Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine. In collaboration with the Division Chief and Department Administration, the Division Administrator provides strategic support and leadership in planning, developing, and implementing new programs to advance the missions of the division; ensures ongoing quality of service in clinical, research, education, and service programs.

Minimum Qualifications | Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related area of assignment or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of assigned department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred. This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
