About the Job



The Mathematics and Statistics Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) invites applications for two postdoctoral positions in mathematics or statistics. These are 2-year non-tenure-track appointments. The appointment starts Aug. 19, 2024.

Applicants should be able to teach a range of different courses, show evidence of teaching excellence, and demonstrate a commitment to working with a diverse student population. Priority will be given to applicants whose research aligns with faculty at UMD.
Duties & Responsibilities include a teaching load of two courses per semester, research, and service. Teaching duties include in-class teaching, assessment, and office hours. Service duties may include meeting attendance and outreach activities.

Qualifications



Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, or a related field awarded by the time of appointment from a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications include previous teaching experience at the collegiate level (including teaching assistant experience) to a diverse group of students, evidence of effective teaching, evidence of impactful scholarship in mathematics or statistics, and effective written and oral communication skills appropriate to the position.
