Medtronic’s Coronary and Renal Denervation (CRDN) business is looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager to be part of a high-performing team that is revolutionizing the design and development of energy based therapeutic medical devices to treat hypertension. In this role, you will leverage both your technical breadth and business acumen to accelerate the design and development of next generation medical devices. The work you do will impact patients globally and help support Medtronic’s mission of alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life for millions.

This Electrical Engineering Manager role requires strong technical and leadership skills to support the design and development of innovative, new products within the Cardiac and Vascular Group. You will apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts in working on complex technical problems, and will provide technical leadership of projects from concept generation through early phase development to market release.

A Day in the Life

•Plans, directs and implements projects for an 8-10 person team that designs and develops new medical device products or software systems.

•May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.

•Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.

•Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.

•Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.

•Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.

•Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development.

•Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have:

· Bachelors degree required (Electrical Engineering)

· Ensure structured problem methods and predictive engineering principles are consistently and rigorously applied, such as Design for Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar concepts

· Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to ask critical questions without being the subject matter expert

· Deep experience in embedded electrical design including SOC based architecture with FPGA

· Demonstrated strength in building strong relationships at all levels of the organization, cross-functionally, and with key people external to the organization

· Experience developing software within the medical device industry

· Experience with medical device design controls (e.g. ISO 13485), risk analysis (e.g. ISO 14971), and IEC62304 and SDLC

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
