THE BIG PICTURE
Mortenson's Strategic Marketing Department is seeking a Sales Analyst to perform our corporate sales reporting, analysis, and forecasting responsibilities. Job duties include collecting data, reviewing current customer and segment results, analyzing sales and market trends, and creating detailed reports. The main goal is to provide reporting and ad-hoc analyses that give insight to operating group and corporate leaders regarding our sales and customer experience performance and how to improve.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Compile, analyze, and report sales data, win-rates, and customer experience results to company leaders, business unit leaders, and sales teams.
Provide actionable insights to guide leadership and sales teams in decision-making.
Prepare sales forecasts and ensure integrity of forecast models.
Monitor impacts to sales pipeline and forecasts and communicate material changes to leadership.
Ensure data quality and accuracy within sales system and reports.
Prepare quarterly reports for Board of Directors and senior leadership team.
Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency of reporting processes
Monitor customer and market trends.
Collect and analyze data for ad hoc report requests.
Support annual business planning process by providing business-unit level KPIs, forecasts, and goal models.
Evaluate potential use cases for predictive analytics tool.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Solid blend of analytical, communication, and technical skills:
Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
Strong data analysis skills to interpret results and generate valuable reporting and insights.
Ability and comfort utilizing data analysis tools like Excel, data visualization tools like Power BI, and database systems.
Curiosity and initiative to dig into numbers and discover key trends.
Effective communication skills to convey findings to sales and corporate leaders.
Problem-solving abilities to uncover process improvements and the best ways to capture, store, and report information.
Familiarity with financial concepts and modeling.
Desire to develop a deep understanding of Mortenson's customers, markets, and sales processes/strategies.
Ability to effectively collaborate and work as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, statistics, or a similar field
3+ years of experience analyzing complex data (preferred).
