    Position Summary:

    The Accounting Manager will be an individual contributor reporting directly to the CFO. This individual will be responsible for managing the general ledger and preparing financial statements for one of our two primary entities, as well as overseeing the accounting and financial reporting for two joint venture entities. While prior experience in the construction industry or with job costing is not required, the ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and a hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP for one primary company entity and two joint venture entities.
    • General Ledger Management: Perform overall management and maintenance of the general ledger, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings.
    • Joint Venture Accounting: Collaborate with joint venture partners to ensure proper accounting treatment, financial reporting, and reconciliations for the two joint ventures under your purview.
    • Variance Analysis: Conduct ongoing variance analysis to provide insight into financial performance and identify areas for cost optimization or process improvement.
    • Audit Support: Serve as the key point of contact for external auditors, providing documentation and explanations as needed for annual audits.
    • Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve financial reporting accuracy, and enhance efficiencies.
    • Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with the CFO and cross-functional team members to provide financial insights and contribute to company-wide initiatives.
    • Compliance: Ensure that all financial reporting and accounting practices adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

     

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA or CMA certification is a plus but not mandatory.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
    • Experience with general ledger management and preparation of financial statements is essential.
    • Experience in the construction industry or job costing is not required but will be considered an asset.
