The Talent and Human Resources Analytics function at Boston Scientific is seeking a client-centric analytics professional. Seated within the Global Talent Management Function, this role will focus on delivering data-driven insights that enable Boston Scientific leaders to proactively plan their talent needs; evaluate the effectiveness of their workforce attraction, development, and engagement initiatives; identify past and future trends; and make informed human capital decisions that will drive the ongoing success of the business.
Primarily acting as an organizational researcher, this role will provide the Talent Analytics & Insights group with technical expertise, developing analytical models with practical, valuable applications in areas such as strategic workforce planning, attracting and retaining talent, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, high-potential talent identification and development, and employee development. As a data-driven organization, this role is critical for us to progress our analytical maturity, fully utilizing our HR data lake to predict future trends, identify leading indicators, define data limits, and evaluate program success.
Your responsibilities will include:
Serve as technical expert, demonstrating fluency in the language of data, and the ability to rapidly translate a client question into a research question.
Own the Prediction and Forecasting workstream, building capabilities within HR and cross-functionally using HR data.
Provide expert advisory support to Talent Analytics team members by consulting on research study design methodologies and conducting analyses based on available data.
Perform deep-dive analyses using traditional statistical, supervised, and unsupervised machine learning techniques to deliver insights on root causes and make recommendations on how to best continuously improve.
Act as the TA&I data steward, identifying data quality challenges and working with business process owners to drive data to consistency.
Offer subject matter expertise in expanding data, designing and managing qualitative and quantitative data collection, and capturing insights to further enhance the value derived from our HR data lake.
Proactively identify research possibilities, mining our data to provide practical talent insights and value to the business.
Join and inform collaborative forums within BSC, sharing methodologies and expertise across functions.
Integrate workforce planning and data elements into BSC's planning ecosystem, testing long-held beliefs before they are systemized.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
3+ years of experience delivering value in analytics roles, ideally at organizations with progressive approaches to the field that have provided exposure to the latest People Analytics practices.
2+ years of experience conducting analyses for and informing workforce planning or predicting supply and demand.
Experience assessing data and performing statistical analysis to address business questions.
Experience in natural language processing, building predictive equations, and modeling scenarios via both supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques. Well-versed in a variety of forecasting methods.
Fluent in R programming.
Experience cleaning, validating, integrating, and evaluating large datasets from disparate and unstructured sources. Experience merging datasets from disparate sources and reporting findings in various formats and mediums (Athena/SQL experience preferred).
Experience using visualization platforms to analyze data and share results (Tableau preferred).
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
Master's or PhD-level coursework or degree in Business Analytics, HRM/People Analytics, or I/O Psychology.
Survey methodology and design at the business unit or enterprise level.
Competency modeling and assessment validation.
Experience using RPA, AI, and other technologies in the Analytics space.
Consulting skills applied to problem definition, needs assessment, presentations of solutions, and communication.
Strong problem-solving skills exhibited by the ability to approach complex, ambiguous business issues with creative ideas and solutions.
Detail-orientation - Looks for anomalies, re-checks analysis, justifies numbers, and makes presentations aesthetically pleasing.
Storytelling with Data - Aptitude to communicate complex data and insights in a succinct and compelling way.
Collaboration - At ease working across a global matrix organization, effective at developing close working partnerships.
