What you will do:
Technical Consultation and Execution
Serves as principal internal subject matter expert for paper making for the sites
Principle contact for support and resourcing from external groups
Leads the development and execution of paper machine operations best practices and work systems
Assist with the development and execution of asset reliability programs incorporating Operations best practices
Develops functional cross sharing platform for best practices and learnings across all sites
Provides expertise for urgent troubleshooting as needed
Assist sites in planning, execution, and critique of major shutdowns
Continuous Improvement
Lead and support a culture of continuous improvement and developing of critical KPIs through review, refresh, and refinement of the paper machine improvement plans
Assist with the development and execution of asset reliability plans for the company
Works with mill teams to identify gaps in equipment uptime and assists team with building sustainable plans to close
Assists mills with continuous optimization of product quality and end product performance
Identify opportunities to improve overall performance through the development and deployment of operating standards
Proactively monitor evolving technology landscape for opportunities to continuously improve productivity, processes, and efficiencies

Foster an environment that encourages employee engagement through a demonstration and modelling of Clearwater Paper's Core Values
Drive a culture of technical collaboration throughout business
Champion and execute Clearwater Paper's Talent and Performance Management process incorporating goal development and deployment, talent reviews, succession planning, and talent selection and development to ensure organization sustainment

What you will need:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
Minimum ten years experience in paper mill operations with progressive responsibility required
Minimum five years of budgetary responsibilities
Experience in board manufacturing preferred
Thorough understanding of paper machine operations
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal development through continuing education, coaching and developing others
Highly adept performing at a fast pace communicating and collaborating across multiple stakeholders
Previous experience using a Computer Maintenance Management system preferred (e.g. JD Edwards).
Must possess analytical troubleshooting skills.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Continuous improvement/lean manufacturing experience preferred.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Demonstrated ability to foster Continuous Improvement.
High speed manufacturing environment, sustained exposure to high frequency noises, multiple hours standing, walking on concrete surfaces
Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment.
Dirt, noise, odor, & temperature extremes.
Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
Exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing process
Travel required of 50-75% of time

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience among other factors. Benefits are generally available after 30 days and include medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and a 401k plan. Paid time off will include vacation days, personal days, and company holidays.
