The US Cloud Engineering Offering focuses on enabling our client’s end-to-end journey from On-Premise to Cloud, with opportunities in the areas of Cloud Strategy and Op Model Transformation, Cloud Development & Integration, Cloud Migration, and Cloud Infrastructure & Managed Services. Cloud Engineering supports our clients as they improve agility, resilience and identifies opportunities to reduce IT operations spend through automation by enabling Cloud. We accelerate our clients toward a technology-driven future, leveraging vendor solutions, Deloitte-developed software products, tools, and accelerators.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years in software and data engineering, AI engineering is a plus
- Strong proficiency in modern languages and frameworks, wielding domain-driven, loosely coupled, microservices architecture with precision—built for scale and speed
- Deep command of platform/product engineering practices that fuse DevSecOps for fast flow, relentless agility, delivering value faster and safer under pressure
- Strong hands-on experience across a stack—Frontend (Svelte, Vue, Angular, React.js, Next.js) and Backend (Rust, Java, Python, .NET, C++/C#, Golang)
- Must be in your designated office location 10%-30% of each work week.
- Ability to travel 10% on average, based on the work you do, the clients you serve and industries/sectors you serve. This may include overnight travel.
- Must live in a commutable distance (approximately 100-mile radius) to one of the following Delivery locations: Lake Mary, FL; Gilbert, AZ; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Charlotte, NC; Philadelphia, PA or Mechanicsburg, PA areas, with the ability to commute to assigned location for the day, without the need for overnight accommodations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on mastery of next-gen IDEs—GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Google IDX
- Engineering with top-tier Hyperscaler and hybrid cloud platforms (OpenShift, EKS, AKS, GCE), orchestrating containers and serverless components with precision
- Hardening experience with leading-edge API standards and platforms (Hyperscaler-native, 3scale, apigee)
- Solid fundamentals — Liskov substitution, GoF patterns, and tradeoff engineering—flexible across Java, Go, Rust, or any binding you throw at it
- Applies formalisms like Architecture Tradeoff Analysis Method (ATAM) to cut through complexity and lock in simplified, durable and streamlined engineering calls
- Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, transactions, and persistence—built to outlast and outperform at scale
- Fluency in any current open-source library fundamentals— data persistence, logging, networking, multi-threading, data handling
