Job Description: |
This is a Union environment that has an employee base comprised of 30 and 40-year veterans as well as employees more recently hired. Job Description POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs complete assembly of standard products and sub-assemblies which require a thorough understanding and knowledge of welding techniques, materials, tools, machines, and equipment under regular supervision and training. May also perform sheet metal assembly/welding tasks including, but not limited to: joining surfaces using a variety of welding methods, repairing parts of metal or other weldable materials, applying the appropriate welding process, preparing metal parts/products for paint, installing insulation, sanding/grinding/drilling, and a variety of other sheet metal assembly functions as assigned.
Performs duties as specified by work orders, blueprints, diagrams, and layouts, using a variety of hand and power tools. May train lower grade level personnel and accomplish tasks with one or more helpers. Work must be inspected for conformance to specifications and performed with adherence to all safety rules and procedures.
