Position Duties
Loyola University Maryland invites applications for an adjunct teaching position for EG 421: Fluid Mechanics in Fall 2022 (9/6/2022 – 12/12/2022). The course is scheduled for MWF from 8:00 AM – 8:50 AM but can be rescheduled if necessary.

EG 421 is a concentration elective for juniors and seniors concentrating in Mechanical Engineering.
  • EG 421: Fluid Mechanics Curse Description: Examines fluids at rest and in motion in engineering applications. Covers fluid statics; kinematics and dynamics of inviscid and viscous fluid flows; integral continuity, momentum, and energy analyses; boundary layers; turbulence; scale modeling and similitude; conduit flows; simple turbomachinery; and lift and drag.
Required Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Ph.D. candidates may be considered if they have extensive prior teaching experience.
  • A strong interest in teaching undergraduates.
  • A willingness to respond to feedback and work collaboratively with multiple instructors.
  • An interest and/or demonstrated skills in high-impact teaching practices.
  • An interest and/or knowledge in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline is preferred.
  • Industry or research expertise that matches the course content.
