Job Description

 
2 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs available 3/31/2024- 12/31/2024. Farm equipment operator to run 200-400 HP tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate and spray corn, soy beans, sunflowers, hay and pumpkins. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Duties include tilling soil and applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops. Will drive/ operate farm vehicles including trucks and forklifts, hay balers. Set up, operate, monitor & maintain irrigation system. Load, monitor and maintain grain dryers. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Apply fertilizers to crops. Inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress. Will monitor fields for plant infestations and use treatments appropriate for use in both a preventative or infestation situations. Workers should report for work with their own suitable work clothing. Field temperatures may range from 0 to 90+ degrees (F) with possible wet morning conditions Due to health and safety concerns relating to pesticide application and the operation of equipment on our farm, workers are required to have the ability to comprehend simple oral and written instructions in English. After hiring, employer may conduct random drug tests at employers expense. Must be physically able to lift up to 80 pounds. Requirements: * Workers referred against this order must have a minimum of 3 months experience in performing tasks described in this order in an agricultural setting. * After hiring, employer may conduct random drug tests at employers expense. * Lifting requirement of 80 lbs. * Workers must have or be able to obtain a drivers license. * Exposure to extreme temperatures, * Repetitive movements, extensive pushing/pulling, frequent stooping/bending, and extensive walking.
