Job Summary

As a prominent player in the mining industry, we are committed to responsible and sustainable resource extraction. Our dedication to safety is paramount, and we strive to build a workplace where safety is ingrained in every aspect of our operations. As we continue to uphold high standards in mining practices, we are seeking a Safety Intern to join our crew and participate in the advancement of safety initiatives within our organization.

Our Internship program is crafted to educate the candidate (current college student) about the different aspects of safety within the aggregate and ready-mix industry. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Main Responsibilities

Work closely with the Safety Specialist to understand our safety program and the importance of Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) & Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations
Stay current on industry-specific regulations and standard processes
Handling critical or confidential information with honesty and integrity
Learning how to work as part of the region team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company

Skills

Confirmed understanding of safety regulations and guidelines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Thorough with strong organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education

Enrolled in a relevant safety management, occupational health and safety, or related Bachelor's degree program.
