Job Summary

REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent, and a minimum five years employment with WV law enforcement or court system. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion. Ability to operate general office equipment. Understanding of the legal system and processes. Ability to work independently and multi-task. Preferred experience: Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Maintenance of records and/or evidence. Prior law enforcement experience JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinate all Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) activities facilitated through magistrate court. Review reports and documentation regarding misdemeanor and felony cases. Coordinate with officers to ensure availability and accountability for appearance at trial. Assist in preparing State witnesses for trial or hearing. Advise the presiding magistrate of the status of officers who will not appear in court due to illness. Attend meetings with members of the judicial system and other law enforcement agencies to exchange information and develop goodwill and create a good working rapport with all court personnel. Performs related work as assigned by leadership of the participating agencies (Chiefs of Police & Wood County Sheriff)
