Required Skills: | Five (5) years of software development experience creating business applications with relational database systems. Experience must include:
One (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): • Java SE and EE • SQL • Programmatic interaction with relational database systems • Software architecture and system design experience • Web and REST services • Agile Development • Tomcat • Spring and Spring Boot framework • Production support • Software design • AngularJS and other JavaScript frameworks • Azure Cloud and DevOps experience • Rabbit MQ • Splunk
Will also accept a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a directly related field plus one (1) year of described experience. |

Job Description: |
Implement designs following Pearson coding standards and industry best practices. Maintain and support mission-critical applications as necessary. Ensure business and requirements artifacts are created that effectively model the customer's requirements. Use tooling and best practices to create design models from requirements. Participate in and lead requirement, design and code reviews. Work closely with other teams (e.g., QA, configuration management, end users) to release high quality software. Create testable requirements and write and execute unit and automated tests. Participate in group improvement activities and initiatives to improve process and product quality in pursuit of excellence. Complete project documentation as required, including logging status, risk, progress, and effort on assigned work. Mentor and train new team members. Work as a power developer as well as a lead developer and software designer on many key initiatives working closely with the Product Architect. Implementation of software that achieves the goals of the architecture and software standards within product area. Position is fixed location based in Bloomington, MN office, however telecommuting may also be available 100% of the time. Standard company benefits.
