Amentum Electrician in Washington, District Of Columbia

Amentum is looking for an Electrician to join our team in Washington, DC . You will inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all medium and low voltage utility systems, equipment, motors, MCC panels, generators, transformers, switch-gears, substations, and distribution systems.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US government security clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possess a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical apparatus and control circuitry maintenance.

  • Strong background in low voltage switchgear maintenance and repair

  • Thoroughly familiar with electrical test equipment

  • Knowledge of NEC regulations

  • Willingness to work rotational shifts if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends and holidays as required.

  • 8+ years in the electrical trade working as Journeyman Electrician

  • Must have a Journeyman Electrician License

  • A willingness to work rotational shifts if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends and holidays as required.

  • Must be able to perform the required physical qualifications of the position, including: the ability to lift or carrying up to 50 lbs; stand and/or walk for prolonged/extensive amounts of time; can use a ladder or lift and work on structures or equipment above ground level; work in cramped or uncomfortable places and positions; can push, pull, or lift heavy equipment, supplies or parts.
