Are you passionate about woodworking and skilled in CAD / CAM drafting? Twin City Staffing is currently seeking a talented CAD / CAM drafter to join our client, a reputable woodworking company dedicated to crafting high-quality custom wood products. If you have expertise in woodworking and CAD / CAM software, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and production of bespoke woodwork projects. Location: Minneapolis, MN Wage: $23 - $35 per hour Hours: 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday Benefits of the CAD / CAM drafter: Competitive salary Health insurance Retirement savings plan Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for professional development and advancement Responsibilities of the CAD / CAM drafter: Collaborate with the owner to create detailed technical drawings and models for woodwork projects using CAD software. Develop CAM programs for CNC machines to facilitate precision cutting, carving, and milling of wood components. Translate conceptual sketches and design concepts into accurate and manufacturable CAD/CAM files. Ensure that designs meet aesthetic, functional, and structural requirements while adhering to project timelines and budgets. Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to assess the viability of design concepts and propose solutions to optimize production processes. Generate material lists, cutting schedules, and assembly instructions to support the manufacturing process. Collaborate closely with production teams to provide guidance and technical support during the fabrication and assembly of woodwork components. Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards. Maintain organized files and documentation of CAD/CAM designs and revisions. Requirements of the CAD / CAM drafter: Proven experience as a CAD/CAM Drafter in the woodworking industry. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and CAM software (e.g., AlphaCAM, VCarve Pro). In-depth knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and joinery methods.
