The Sr. Buyer is a pivotal role to achieve our goals of sourcing strategy excellence. This role will have the opportunity to help implement and ensure high-quality execution of capital projects and site operational procurement duties. The Sr. Buyer will be responsible for reviewing contracts and recommending suppliers or contract terms based on Nutrien best practices to maximize overall value and cost savings. This role is also responsible for executing day-to-day site procurement duties, supporting areas as assigned by leadership. This role will be report to the Procurement Manager and is not eligible for remote work. Travel may be required.

What you will do:

Manage ISNetworld database to ensure our key suppliers maintain compliance and manage site services and supporting contracts

Manage project and site supplier contracts to ensure compliance and best value for Nutrien

Facilitate Supplier setup, updates, and assist in the communication & implementation of new contracts

Conduct source-to-pay pricurement activites for capital, site operational, raw material, and maintenance suppliersincluding RFx, PO creation and invoice/payment reconciliation

Processing invoices in a timely manner following Nutrien procurement policy and procedure

Reordering materials as needed based on specific requests within defined spend limits and at defined reorder points by using the procurement aligned business processes and supporting systems

Maintain engagement with Site Procurement Manager and to understand site coordination needs and areas of synergies across procurement areas of responsibility

Work with Procurement Manager, and site leadership to draft contract terms and conditions that accurately reflect requirements, Nutrien best practices, and desired KPIs

Support supplier management program for the site; create strong supplier relationships, establish regular engagement with strategic suppliers by scheduling and facilitating regular business reviews and KPIs to track service levels and improve overall supplier performance. Act as/for the Procurement Manager, as directed/when needed

What you will bring:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, management preferred

Minimum 6+ years relevant experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain management

Experience with major categories such as: Electrical & Instrumentation, Engineered Equipment, Construction Services, Engineering Services, Project Management etc

Broad experience in supply chain, source-to-contract and source-to-pay processes and tools, and experience in category strategy implementation, supplier contract execution, supplier relationship & contract management and supplier risk management

Clear and solid understanding of, and practical experience with, enterprise asset management systems (SAP/Oracle), spend management tools (e.g., Ariba, Analysis & Reports), data management tools and source-to-pay systems (eProcurement)

Certifications in disciplines such as Procurement (SCMP/CPSM), Inventory Management (CIPS), Lean / Six Sigma, or Operational Planning preferred, but not required
