Job Summary:
Facilitate and implement immigration services by assisting refugees and asylees to:
Adjust their immigration status.
Complete complicated immigration paperwork.
Reunify with family members overseas.
Access other legal services.
Complete fingerprinting of sponsors for unaccompanied children in the Safe Release Support program.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Global Studies, Social Work, Anthropology, or another related field.
At least one year of experience working with refugees.
Driver's license.
Prior Department of Justice or Board of Immigration Appeals accreditation preferred.
Writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of the U.S. Refugee Program, international refugee processing, and familiarity with refugee communities living in the U.S.
Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
Able to develop reports and correspondence of professional quality.
The incumbent must have the ability to interact with a wide diversity of clients and must be culturally sensitive.
