As a Day Treatment Program Therapist, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of children and their families through our successful mental health programs. You will be part of a caring and highly regarded staff of professionals in our Brooklyn Center location. You will provide milieu, group, individual, and family therapy to a caseload of clients in the day treatment program. This includes ensuring the caseload is at a minimum of 90% capacity, outcome reporting for caseloads are to be 100% completed in the required timeframe, ensuring that 100% of authorizations are up to date, and ensuring that all paperwork is done in accordance with organization and DHS guidelines.

Location: Brooklyn Center

Hours: M-F (8am-4pm)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Complete intake, diagnostic assessment and treatment planning compliant with Rule 47 guidelines
Provide individual, family and milieu therapy guided by the treatment plan
Provide clinical services in a team-based approach
Provide crisis intervention for clients as appropriate
Build and maintain caseload of clients to consistently meet productivity expectations
Participate in clinical consultation of clients with supervisor, professional consultants, and program staff
Maintain progress toward licensure and follow requirements of supervision (as applicable)
Complete all required paperwork consistent with organization and DHS requirements
Provide task supervision, coaching and mentoring to interns
Coordinate with school and other service providers to ensure treatment plan goals are consistent with the educational plan for each client
Assist Behavioral Specialists in delivering services in the milieu and in experiential skills activities. Help to lead activities in milieu


QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Education: Master's Degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy or other related field
Experience: A minimum of one year of experience with adolescents and family therapy and providing experiential therapy as well as community based mental health services
Fully licensed or on the licensure track


Preferred but not required

Mental Health Professional License (LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, LP)
Fluency in Spanish a plus but not required
Experience creating Diagnostic Assessments and Treatment Plans
Experience running clinical groups
Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (e.g. school staff, case managers, other therapist)
Experience with trauma
Have thier own vehicle for work
Able to work evening hours


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient knowledge and understanding of the clinical work done in a community based mental health center
Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic rapport with diverse and challenging youth
High degree of organization and attention to detail
Proven ability to identify and resolve problems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate and utilize the skills of program team and other staff
Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, identify strengths in individuals and systems and positively motivate others
Ability to work in a fast paced, sometimes stressful environment. Ability to think on your feet during a crisis
Local travel within the metro area
Interact with a range of personalities and diverse individuals
