This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and has the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office on established days.

The purpose of this position is to lead the development, analysis, coordination and reporting of performance measures, and performance-based planning. This includes leading initiatives related to expanding and improving the practice of communicating system performance through data visualizations. This position will also assist with other activities in the unit related to risk management. At various times throughout the planning cycle, this position may support other areas of the office including contributing to the formation of policies, performance measures, and major investment strategies for the Multimodal Statewide Transportation Plan, the 20-year State Highway Investment Plan, and other related planning studies. This position leads research, analysis, and outreach in support of Department initiatives to advance performance-based planning, performance measurement, and other transportation planning and programming subjects.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of advanced professional transportation planning experience that demonstrates:

  • Experience with performance-based transportation planning.

  • Experience with planning principles, methods, and techniques sufficient to develop statewide and/or regional plans.

  • Experience with GIS and data visualization tools to present and analyze data.

  • Experience with statistical analysis with spreadsheet or database applications.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, Political Science substitutes for six months of advanced professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with InDesign.

  • Experience with multimodal accessibility analysis software tools.
