POSITION: Civil Engineer / Wastewater
DUTIES:
* Leads and supervises a project team in the execution of various phases of
construction project planning, design, and construction to include pre-
and post-award construction and design contract management
* Serves as project engineer for assigned construction and engineering
projects
* Coordinates with City staff in various departments as well as consultants to
plan, design, and execute capital improvement projects
* Establishes and maintains project records to include all contracts
awarded, associated drawings and specifications, contractor submittals and
requests for information, inspection and testing logs and reports; change
orders and amendments, invoices and payment requests, and other documents
in accordance with direction from the Engineering Manager
* Designs and reviews preliminary construction plans and specifications and
makes appropriate recommendations
* Leads and facilitates pre-construction conferences with contractors,
utility companies, City staff, and other interested parties
* Supervises the field inspection of construction and engineering projects and
reviews contractor invoices and partial payment requests
* Reviews contractor's estimates and approves requests for payment
* Directs, supervises, and performs final acceptance inspection of
completed projects and tracks warranty obligations
