Job Description

Demonstrates ability to prioritize needs and desires of participants as first responsibility and shows respect to participants at all times.
Displays an overall commitment to the mission and values of the organization
Follows all safety guidelines/policies, as well as OSHA guidelines/ Responsible for the general safety of all residents under his/her supervision/Uses On-call system appropriately
Responsible for the administration and documentation of all medications and treatments as per medication certification as well as policies and procedures.
Implements all program services and ensures teaching strategies, ensures all documentation occurs as individuals plans indicate.
Implement recreation activities for all residents in the home according to their skill level and interests.
Ensure all residents practice appropriate grooming and hygiene - this may include assisting with showering and clean up of bodily fluids
Provides transportation for residents as needed. - must use personal vehicle while in process of obtaining PSL and/or when company van not available (may include transportation to airports in Hartford or NYC, camp, family home, etc)
Ability to teach without “parenting” and encourage the highest degree of independence possible
Follows all safety guidelines/policies, as well as OSHA guidelines/ Responsible for the general safety of all participants under his/her supervision
