About the Role:
Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking a Manager of Compliance and Risk Management to play a key role in ensuring compliance with clinical, operational, financial, technological, and safety practices. The Manager will work closely with internal teams and external entities to assess and mitigate risks while promoting a culture of safety and compliance. This role involves incident review, process improvement, and collaboration across multiple departments to support risk management operations.
As a Manager of Compliance and Risk Management, your responsibilities will include:
- Incident Review & Risk Mitigation – Monitor, track, and review designated incidents daily, ensuring appropriate follow-up and escalating urgent or high-risk cases as needed.
- Patient Concerns & Quality of Care – Partner with the Patient Experience team to support escalated patient concerns or complaints related to significant quality of care issues.
- Process Improvement & Compliance Monitoring – Collaborate with Quality and Patient Experience teams to recommend process improvements based on data from the incident reporting system.
- FTCA Compliance & Risk Management – Work with clinical and operational teams to oversee Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) required activities, including tracking referrals, hospitalizations, and diagnostics.
- Technology & Patient Safety – Collaborate with IT and Health Information Technology (HIT) teams to identify and resolve patient safety concerns related to internal systems, including electronic health records and the patient portal.
- Reporting & Data Analysis – Develop periodic incident dashboards, analyze trends, and present findings to department leaders to inform risk management strategies.
- Investigations & Root Cause Analysis – Conduct thorough investigations and root cause analyses on reported incidents, providing guidance on prevention and future risk reduction.
- Committee & Compliance Support – Assist with Compliance and Risk Management Committee activities, including meeting coordination, agenda preparation, and documentation of key discussions and action items.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with evening hours.
