Description The Low Voltage Technician is an electrical professional who will install and maintain low voltage wiring systems such as alarm systems, security systems, audio/visual equipment and fire alarms. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience required in some but not all of the following areas of Power Limited Fire alarm Security Home audio A/V Networking Project layout Building Automation Systems Control 4 Troubleshooting Ability to start relationships with customers and maintain relationships with existing customers Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work alone or as a team Ability to read and understand blueprints and put into the spatial area it is referring to Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Outlook is preferred Ability to plan, coordinate and problem solve effectively Impeccable attention to detail EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Preferred 3 years in the field or 2 years in school and 2 years in the field Understanding of the NEC in relation to the trade PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift 50lbs Work in conditions that may include: heat, cold, humidity, rain, sunlight and wind Climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Possess a full range of motion and flexibility The employee will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
