Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities. 

1. Education/Special Skills: Must have a minimum of one ARDMS (RDCS) registration and be working towards registration in the areas in which you are or will be performing examinations; or be a graduate of a school of Echocardiography and must successfully complete an ARDMS examination in a time frame set by the Ultrasound Supervisor. The level of education must include the ability to communicate effectively orally and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This position requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months. 

2. Must be able to attend the work site as scheduled, be flexible with hours, and to take call on a rotational basis. 

3. Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.

Job Description:
Responsible for performing echocardiography and vascular tests/procedures in a clinic and hospital setting. Maintains professionalism while providing exceptional patient care.

Thoroughly understands the operation of the ultrasound machine and is self-driven to increase understanding and knowledge. Provides quality images that accurately display findings.  Prepares a clear summary of findings for the interpreting physician, communicating with other medical team members when necessary.  

Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment by following disinfection protocol and stocking linens daily. Requires establishing ethical working relationships with all organizational staff. Must be flexible with hours, covering weekend call on a rotational basis.  

This position reports directly to the Radiology Director and is supervised by the Ultrasound Supervisor. The incumbent has contact with patients, LRH employees, volunteers, clinic personnel, and physicians. This position has access to sensitive, confidential information, and must be able to maintain those confidences. The incumbent must be able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
