JOB DESCRIPTION

Innovate to solve the world's most important challenges

Elevate Your Career with Visible Impact

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is driving digital transformation at Honeywell. You’ll work on projects that gain you and the team recognition across the organization and industry, influencing strategic direction and making a lasting impact. We value individuals who are self-motivated, proactive, and able to approach challenges with critical thinking and a sense of urgency. If you’re eager to lead in this space, innovate, and make a tangible difference, the next stop on your career is here.

Our team enables Honeywell to achieve strategic objectives by using technology to manage risk across the enterprise. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions that shape the future of Honeywell and the industry. This is a high-visibility, high-impact position that requires not only deep technical expertise but also the ability to influence without direct authority. You’ll need to earn the respect of both technical and non-technical teams anchored in existing processes while inspiring them to embrace innovative approaches that solve real business problems. You’ll serve as both a strategic thought leader and a hands-on “player-coach,” helping teams adopt new thinking, optimize workflows, and drive transformative outcomes.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, and you’re eager to contribute to pioneering projects, I want you on our team.

About the Role

The Lead AI Business Catalyst is a hands-on technical and strategic role at the intersection of data science, AI engineering, and enterprise data strategy. This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, product owners, data engineering, AI/ML teams, and enterprise platforms, ensuring that AI-driven solutions are scalable, effective, and aligned with business goals.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing data architectures that enable agentic AI models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques, and automation across key business processes. As a player-coach, you will guide teams on best practices in MLOps, and data strategy, while remaining actively engaged in requirements gathering and solution development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • AI Data Strategy & Architecture:
    • Lead the design and implementation of AI-driven data solutions, focusing on integrating structured and unstructured data.
    • Develop architectures for agentic AI models, graph databases, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
    • Ensure responsible AI data use, governance, and compliance in all AI-driven initiatives.
  • MLOps & Engineering Leadership:
    • Establish and enforce best practices in MLOps for AI/ML workflows within Databricks.
    • Define automated pipelines for data ingestion, feature engineering, and model deployment.
    • Optimize data processing using PySpark and scalable cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Enablement:
    • Serve as the data enabler for AI agents, ensuring they have accurate and contextually relevant data.
    • Work closely with product owners, data scientists, stakeholders, and IT to translate business needs into technical implementations.
    • Engage with enterprise architecture, governance, and data warehouse teams to align AI initiatives with broader data strategies.
    • Act as a key liaison between internal teams and third-party vendors, ensuring smooth integrations with external AI tools and data sources.
  • Data Leadership & Innovation:
    • Drive the adoption of modern AI data architectures, including knowledge graphs, vector databases, and LLM-enhanced solutions.
    • Mentor data engineers and AI teams on best practices for API integration, data lineage, and scalable AI data management.
    • Advocate for a proactive approach to AI-driven risk management, transforming compliance from a reactive process into an automated, preventative system.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Behaviors:
    • Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

o   Hustle: Demonstrated experience of a strong work ethic, proactively solving problems and going beyond the expected to achieve results.

o   Critical Thinking: Proven ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions. We’re looking for someone who can think on their feet and adapt to evolving challenges.

o   Customer Focused: A clear understanding of user needs, with a track record of building solutions that prioritize the speed of delivering value to customers. You must be able to empathize with end users and design what they need for success, not just execute to stated requirements.

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong background in Databricks, PySpark, and MLOps for AI/ML model development and deployment.
    • Hands-on experience with APIs, data lakes, and modern data engineering frameworks.
    • Familiarity with graph databases, vector search, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) models.
    • Strong understanding of AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI frameworks.
  • Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership:
    • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable AI-driven data solutions.
    • Experience working across enterprise data warehouse teams (Snowflake), analytics platforms, and governance functions.
    • Proven ability to operate in an Agile environment, balancing strategy with hands-on execution.
  • AI & Automation Mindset:
    • Passion for enabling automated AI-driven solutions that enhance business decision-making.
    • Ability to design self-learning AI systems that adapt to evolving landscapes.

WE VALUE

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with LLMs, agentic AI models, and self-learning systems.
  • Influence Without Authority:
    • Exceptional ability to build trust and respect among technical teams, stakeholders, and offshore partners.
    • You excel at bridging the gap between legacy approaches and innovative solutions through empathy, clear communication, and persuasive reasoning.
  • Hands-On Leadership:
    • You thrive as a “player-coach,” rolling up your sleeves to solve complex technical challenges while mentoring others.
    • You’re comfortable managing multiple priorities and driving execution in a global, fast-paced environment.
  • Vision & Adaptability:
    • Strong critical thinking skills that enable you to navigate complex organizational structures and shift entrenched mindsets.
    • Adept at delivering value quickly while laying the groundwork for sustainable, scalable solutions.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Track record of successfully leading cross-functional, cross-geographical teams.
    • You can distill sophisticated AI/data concepts into straightforward, actionable business insights for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Background in compliance, risk management, or financial controls is a plus.
