Essex County OB/GYN is currently seeking a professional and enthusiastic Patient Services Coordinator who possesses an ability to communicate effectively with our patients. We would love to see someone with excellent phone management skills using a multi-line telephone system. The job requirements will also include faxing medical documents and scanning medical documents into patient records. The ability to schedule appointments is extremely important, as is copying all insurance cards and processing credit card payments. Computer skills are also required to search for and obtain all necessary insurance information from various web sites. Summary of Position
The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for interacting with patients in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks for the medical team. Arranges for efficient and orderly checking in and out of patients, registering patients in the computer ensuring that accurate information is collected and patients are made aware of office policies. Schedules all appointments, collects payments, enters charges, and issues receipts. Provide and maintain smooth operations of all front desk activities at all times.

Essential Functions
Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
Welcomes patients and visitors professionally in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
Exemplary Communication skills to converse clearly over the telephone and in person
Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting co-pay or balances from patient charges.
Organization and time management to manage a variety of tasks effectively
Attention to detail to schedule patients correctly and communicate scheduling difficulties with providers
Technological skills using computers and electronic medical record system
Interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients who may be upset or stressed
Quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues
Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Job Qualifications    Education: High school graduate or equivalent. (Required)
One-year medical office experience highly preferred.
EPIC experience highly preferred.
Regular, reliable and predictable.
