Regional Risk and Compliance Lead

Minimum qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in information security and compliance, consulting, and risk management.
  • Experience with ISO 27k, SOC reports, PCI DSS, FedRAMP, or equivalent information security and privacy compliance certifications.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to support client relationship management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in CISSP, CISA, CIPP, GIAC or related information security certifications.
  • Experience translating compliance requirements into operational and technical control objectives.
  • Experience working with leadership.
  • Knowledge and understanding about cloud security compliance and infrastructure.
  • Ability to drive complex programs across business and engineering teams with collaboration and leadership.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex issues with excellent communications skills.

Cybersecurity, operational resilience, data privacy, and regulatory compliance are key security topics for regulated Google Cloud customers as they migrate their services to the cloud. This role will engage with Google Cloud customers, partners, and their regulators directly leading risk based audits and addressing cybersecurity risks, operational resilience, and regulatory requirements with a primary focus on the Google common infrastructure, application services, and operating environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cloud security risk, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance audit engagements requested by Google Cloud’s customers, their internal IT audit teams, assigned Third-Party auditors or regulators.
  • Lead the regulatory intake process and perform regulatory compliance analysis and control mapping for the sub-regions under ownership.
  • Review and approve "in-scope" contractual commitments that materially impact Google's control environment, internal policies and procedures and operational capabilities.
  • Lead Compliance Assurance projects across the region. Creating awareness and improving the Culture of Compliance, focusing on accountability, and transparency.
  • Collaborate across Google engineering, data center operations, and other teams to prepare and execute audit engagements. Educate customers on Google Cloud’s ongoing compliance postures to meet business and regulatory requirements. Build long term, value added relationships with key leadership stakeholders to retain and enhance continuous trust in Google Cloud.
