Job Description
Program Coordination: Coordinates, plans and executes all aspects of the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU), Summer Research Experience for Austin Community College Students (CREATE), Industrial Mentorship Program and the K-12 STEM Outreach. Job tasks for each of these programs include:
REU: Coordinate recruitment efforts across Texas Universities and other institutions across the nation. Organize application process and lead candidate selection process. Collaborate with center participants including faculty and graduate mentors. Create, organize, and manage lectures, workshops, activities for participants. Foster sense of belonging and boost researcher confidence through personal and professional development. Review program survey data and implement changes to improve program operation.
CREATE: Engage and develop relationships with Austin Community College partners. Coordinate recruitment efforts and visiting research seminars. Organize application process and candidate selection process. Collaborate with center participants including faculty and graduate mentors. Foster sense of belonging and boost researcher confidence through personal and professional development. Review program survey data to continuously improve quality of experience for participants.
Industrial Mentorship Program: Build relationships with & recruit industry professionals for program. Engage with undergraduate & graduate students and postdoctoral fellows within the center and great college of engineering and college of natural sciences. Manage the mentor/mentee pairing process. Organize and facilitate training for personal and professional development of program participants.
K-12 STEM Outreach: Support the development and management of K-12 STEM Outreach within the Center. Communicate with external institutions to initiate new and established programs. Assist with planning and setup for special events on and off campus. Assist CDCM K-12 Student Outreach Committee members in their implementation of K-12 outreach activities at local schools and on the UT campus.
Communication and Media Development: Manage internal communications: Design and distribute recruitment materials, informational documents, and event announcements. Manage CDCM Newsletter.
External Communications: Design and distribute recruitment and informational materials and event announcements.
Social Media: Develop and implement social media campaigns.
Website Management: Perform updates and manage CDCM website.
Podcast: assist with podcast pre-recording prep and dissemination of podcast episodes both externally and internally
Administrative Support and Event Management: Maintain detailed records of current and previous students and participants.
Keep records of Center activities and initiatives for reporting.
Ensure assigned program areas stay within outlined budgets.
Report expenses to CDCM Admin.
Assist with coordination of CDCM events.
