Job Description
Sinclair is looking for a proactive, take-charge Regional Director of Engineering that can ensure the procedures and standards for operation and maintenance of our stations and equipment in the Mid-West. This position is responsible for all station technical equipment and related infrastructure, high power digital transmitters and microwave equipment, in-house computer networking, and News related equipment. Additional responsibilities include manage and oversee a dynamic engineering staff, on-air operation of stations and transmitters, making sure station are compliant with specific FCC rules and regulations, and overall maintenance of buildings and company owned sites.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of digital and analog technologies as used in a broadcast environment, as well as a complete understanding of IT networks, high power VHF and UHF Transmitters, broadcast equipment and microwave RF technology.
- This position requires at least 10 years’ experience in TV broadcast engineering, including studio and transmitter facility maintenance, planning and execution of capital projects, news production and on-air operations.
- Knowledge of studio equipment, station automation and Avid News systems a plus.
- The candidate must also have a thorough working knowledge of all building systems and knowledge of compliance standards of all governmental and industry regulations.
- This position requires at least 7 years’ experience managing an engineering staff.
- A degree in a technically related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Overnight travel is required. Position to be based in the Mid-West region.
The base salary compensation range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
