POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

 

Official Position Title: Licensed Therapist for Outpatient Services

Working Job Title: Outpatient Therapist

Status: Exempt

Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director

Positions Supervised: All Assigned Outpatient Services

 

Performance Expectations (Quality and Quantity):

 

  1. Shall demonstrate the use of appropriate knowledge/skills/abilities and judgment, and provide therapeutic services that evidence quality, performance, and meet the needs of persons served. The overall goal is to increase the quality of life through the provision of specialized outpatient mental health services. Specific areas of focus may include: Recovery, Vocation/Education, Parenting skills, Relationships, Coping Skills, Anger Management, and Grief and Loss.

 

  1. Shall attend assigned training and continuing education to maintain credentialing and privileging, to include, but not limited to:

 

  • Ohio Credentialing as Licensed Therapist /Qualified Professional
  • Annual Training (NCI, CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, BBP, Consumer Rights)
  • Adhering to Employee Ethics Statement
  • Cultural Awareness
  • Crisis Response training
  • HIPAA, Confidentiality, Insurance

 

  1. Shall demonstrate the ability to work/be a part of organizational and therapeutic teams, and maintain positive working relationships with consumers, community stakeholders, referral organizations, and other employees/ departments.

 

Shall develop a working knowledge of applicable organizational policy and procedure and demonstrate compliance. This shall include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Personnel policies/procedures
  • Employee Ethics/Corporate Compliance/Consumer Rights
  • Service record documentation
  • Confidentiality/HIPAA

General Knowledge and Skills (will possess at time of employment or will be expected to learn upon employment).

 

Knowledge of the dynamics of behavioral health disorders (BHD) and their impact upon persons served and their families; the social factors involved in BHD; the up-to-date principles/techniques (evidence based/best practices) of community support and the application to individuals possessing BHD; the community resources available to persons with (BHD), to include crisis response, person

 

Centered planning, psycho-educational interventions and cognitive behavioral therapy; knowledge of accepted billing and service record documentation Proficiency in the following areas: Employee Ethics, Corporate Compliance, Consumer Rights, Crisis Response, System of Care, Person Centered Plan, LOE, Authorizations, SAL/ISN notes, Crisis Plan, IPRS, Fund Sources, Service Order, ISP, TX team meetings, case implementation/termination, Confidentiality, HIPAA, Insurance, and Cultural Awareness.

 

Skills in the application of Person Centered Planning and System of Care, and other Recovery Model evidence based/best practices as defined by the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (OhioMHAS), and/or literature/research, and organizational policy/procedure; skill in the delivery of services using accepted treatment modalities, (to include monitoring, linking, assessing, and coordinating); skill in establishing/maintaining effective therapeutic relationships with persons served and/or their family members; and, skill in accurately documenting services provided and billed.

 

Ability demonstrated in the application of evidence based best practice models, interventions and referral techniques of Community Support Services.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Licensed Professional in the State of Ohio
  2. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human service field from an accredited college/university.
  3. At least three (3) years full-time accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population (adult or children) served in delivering clinical services
  4. Must maintain credentialing as Licensed Therapist /Qualified Professional

 

Additional Job Requirements:

  1. Must have the ability to effectively hear and communicate with other employees, the public, and persons served.
  2. Must have reliable transportation, have/maintain valid driver license, and maintain adequate automobile insurance.
  3. Ability to operate telephone, fax machine, and computer hardware/software, etc.
  4. Must have the ability to write in a manner is legible/readable/understandable.
