Verdantas is hiring for a Senior Civil Land Development Engineer to support our Wilmington and Dover offices.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Civil Group Leader with Design and Project Management
- Perform technical planning and design work associated with land or site development and/or water/natural resources projects, including (as appropriate based on experience and licensure)
- Site planning, design, and grading
- Stormwater management design, erosion & sediment control design landscape planning, assessments, and design
- Entrance Plan design
- Prepare record and construction plans for agency/municipal review
- Completion of various land development and environmental permitting applications Attend meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, and contractors
- Candidate should be a critical thinker, be willing to learn through trial and error, be self-motivated, and willing to put the full effort into the task at hand
- Candidate should have a strong desire to grow and advance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- 7 or more years of experience in land development (preferably in Delaware or Maryland)
- P.E. required (Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and/or New Jersey preferred)
- Knowledge of green infrastructure practices, such as bioretention systems, permeable pavement, infiltration systems, and green roofs. DNREC experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability & experience to lead a team of engineers and designers
- AutoCAD proficient, Civil 3D a plus
- Familiarity with Hydro CAD, Hydraflow or other stormwater modeling software
- Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus
