Description

The Manager - Environmental Health and Safety is responsible for implementing and executing Ecumen's Environmental Safety and Emergency Management programs as well as ensuring that all health and safety policies and emergency management procedures are adhered to and that safe practices are adopted. The position plans, implements, monitors, and reviews the protective and preventative measures that are in place that team members are required to follow, and work to minimize operational losses, occupational health problems, incidents, and injuries as well as increase preparedness for emergency situations. This position also provides support, training, and guidance to our communities, conducting various audits or surveys, ensuring proper record keeping, and monitoring for changes in regulatory practice or guidance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Manages and implements Ecumen's Safety and Emergency Management plans, policies, and standard operating procedures for each program in partnership with Corporate Compliance. Monitors and drives compliance of these programs.
Leads risk assessments, audits, and after-action reviews. Identifies and works with the site to implement corrective measures for workplace hazards.
Develops and facilitates training on health and safety topics. Stays current with laws, regulations, and best practices.
Advises team members on safety and emergency management related topics.
Assists with incident responses and post-accident investigations.
Manages hazardous materials generator licenses in compliance with MPCA standards for the organization.
Maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations including all OSHA requirements.
Manager - Environmental Health and Safety Minimum Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in related field
5 years related safety experience in healthcare field
OSHA 10-hour General Industry or equivalent education
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
Current valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance (if applicable)
In-depth knowledge of ANSI/NFPA/DOT/MPCA/CDC/OSHA Regulations and Standards
Solid computer skills that include proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field
10 years healthcare Environmental Health and Safety
Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist or Certified Emergency Manager
