Internship - CAD Drafting
This is a paid internship designed to provide on-the-job experience for those interested in gaining knowledge in their career field. The intern will work under the guidance of the Department leader, or other team members and will be assigned specific responsibilities within the department throughout the internship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Prepare Shop Drawings for Architectural Projects consisting of Roofing, Architectural Metal and other project work.
Work Closely with Project Managers and Estimators during pre-construction and construction phases, detailing and updating plans and pulling together submittal documents as needed.
Exhibit technical aptitude and advanced computer skills. Skills should include but not be limited to MS Office (excel, word, power point), Adobe Writer, Blue Beam.
Actively participate in programs, policies and initiatives designed to enhance the overall good of the company and corporation.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Associate degree OR a college student entering their final year in a CAD program.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, Blue Beam software.
Valid Driver's license and ability to travel to jobsites if needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Walking includes moving within company location and project site, including uneven surface/ground.
Occasional overtime and weekend hours, if needed for project support.
Occasional travel to project sites, or other APi Group company locations as needed.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant and/or customer environments. PPE required when in the plant, yard, customer, or construction areas include:
Hard Hat
Safety Glasses / Goggles
Steel-toed Boots
High Visibility Vest
Hearing Protection (designated areas)
Gloves
Personal Fall Arrest Harness (as applicable)
