Position Summary
The Salvation Army Northern Division Headquarters (DHQ) is doing the most good by supporting our worship and service centers, community outreach, and housing programs that serve local communities.

The Twin Cities Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing preventative and corrective maintenance throughout the Twin Cities Salvation Army properties. The Maintenance Technician also provides guidance and assistance to site-based maintenance staff performing basic HVAC (including boilers), electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. The position is based at DHQ in Roseville, MN.

Expected pay for this position is from $28.90 - $30.90 per hour.

Essential Functions (approximate time spent)
All work performed within the scope of training and regulations.
Guide and assist on-site maintenance staff in performing and scheduling preventative, routine, and corrective maintenance across various areas including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, power, emergency systems, elevators, grounds, vehicles, and equipment. (30%)
Promptly complete assigned work orders. (25%)
Monitor, inspect, test, and perform minor repairs on the boilers and maintain up-to-date boiler logs. (25%)
Respond to emergency maintenance calls, making repairs, and attempting to resolve issues before seeking outside vendor assistance. (5%)
Evaluate project scopes to determine whether on-site maintenance, volunteers, DHQ property maintenance teams, or outside vendors are required, and communicate findings to the site and DHQ. (5%)
Act as a liaison with contractors/vendors regarding service work and estimates. (5%)
Assist locations with maintaining up-to-date preventative maintenance schedules, Material Safety Data Sheets, approved vendors list, and licensing, maintenance, and inspection records. (5%)

Education and Experience
High school diploma/GED.
Two or more years of maintenance experience (e.g., carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
Must possess a Special Boiler license or be able to obtain within 120 days of employment. DHQ will support obtaining a license.
Pass background checks.
Must possess a valid driver's license, possess or be able to obtain within 90 days a DOT Medical Examiners Certificate, and meet MVR requirements.

Competencies
Working knowledge and safe handling of equipment, chemicals, and materials regularly used in basic maintenance.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to use PC and standard office equipment.

Working Conditions
Perform all physical aspects of the position, including being mobile, bending, reaching, and climbing.
Regularly lift 100 pounds.
Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
Must be able to sit and stand for reasonable periods.
Must communicate clearly in English and work in person or on the phone.

Supervisory Responsibilities
None.

Driving/Travel Requirements
Regular driving in the metro using agency vehicles.
