Essential Responsibilities:
Coordinates the Patient Care Team’s delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patient’s spiritual and cultural differences.
Promotes factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering patient care.
Provides patient assessment throughout patient stay while maintaining a therapeutic partnership with patient, family and care givers.
Provides initial and ongoing assessment and care.
Initiates individualized patient and family teaching plans.
The Special Duty RN is required to rotate shifts and work weekends and holidays.
The Special Duty RN must also be available for call as needed or as per established scheduling guidelines.
All other responsibilities are assigned in accordance with qualifications.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
Experience:
One year Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration:
Current nurse’s license in the state of Pennsylvania or a current multistate license (MSL) from compact member states/territories required.
Current CPR certification.
ACLS and PALS certification obtain within six (6) months of hire.
Completion of an approved Basic Dysrhythmia Course within six (6) months of hire.
Critical Care Course or Basic Coronary Care Course preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Skilled at understanding and applying patient age specific needs.
Skilled at demonstrating and implementing all core and job specific competencies/behaviors.
Ability to think critically, apply technical skills and demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills.
