LOCATION AND POSITION INFORMATION:  
 
This position is located at Cypremort Point State Park in Cypremort Point, LA.


This position will be filled as a part-time Classified WAE, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12 month period. 
**Starting Hourly Pay varies, depending on experience.**

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
No experience or training is required.

To keep building interiors, exteriors, and grounds clean and maintained.

Level of Work:
Entry.

Supervision Received:
Close from an employee of higher level.

Supervision Exercised:
None.

Location of Work:
Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, Office of State Parks.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from Custodian by the added responsibility for maintaining the grounds, working the fee station, assisting visitors, and performing general maintenance tasks.

Differs from Maintenance Repairer 1 by lack of responsibility for repair and maintenance of equipment and of structural components of buildings.

Examples of Work

The purpose of this position is to assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the parks buildings and facilities, to assist the administrative staff in the collection of appropriate fees and/or to assist in maintenance to state park facilities.

50%    Fee Collection

•Assists administrative staff in collection of appropriate fees from site visitors.

•Receives cash, checks, credit cards, etc., from customers and/or employees in payment for goods or services.

•Operates office equipment.

•Answers telephone inquiries & provides information to park visitors.


35%   Maintain Cleanliness

•Cleans interior and exterior of facilities at site.

•Sweeps, mops and washes site facilities.

•Removes trash and collects litter& debris.

•Cleans furniture,

•Cleans site's grounds and facilities, and performs basic upkeep maintenance as needed (changing lightbulbs, etc.,).

•Cleans picnic areas to include tables and grills.


10%    Other Functions

•Performs any related duties necessary to maintain and improve the appearance of the site to enhance the visitor's experience.

•Assists other personnel in the completion of their work for the purpose of support and to supplement in times of staff shortage.


5%   Equipment Operation and Maintenance

•Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.

•Use ladders when required in work assignments.

Physical Demands:

•Requires ability to stoop, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, sit and stand on a regular dally basis in the cleaning of the site's facilities.

Performs other related duties as assigned and performs customer service to a high degree of excellence.
