Requirements include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering;
- EIT with the ability and desire to obtain a Professional Engineer license;
- Ability to read plans and specifications;
- Excellent communication, report writing and customer relations skills;
- Ability to conduct occasional structural design calculations for concrete, masonry, steel, wood and possibly other materials;
- Ability to adapt to new challenges and learn new concepts;
- Desire for continuous learning;
- Work well with others, courteous, patient, and respectful;
- Personal awareness of role as an SME ambassador;
- Fortitude required to stick with a problem until solved. Open-mindedness to opinions of others;
- Desire to enhance the visibility of SME’s Building Materials Group experts. In this regard, participation in professional organizations outside of regular employment is encouraged;
- Team Members must have good organizational, written and oral communication skills;
- Motivated self-starter and able to work independently;
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
- Identify and solve problems, and work well in a team environment;
- Exemplify safe work practices and follow the company's compliance standards;
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop and/or kneel for long periods of time;
- Must be able to walk and work on uneven ground/terrain; and
