Job Description:
The Financial Aid Department at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit eligible position of Student Employment Coordinator.

This position works in coordination with the Director of Student Employment to administer the student employment program at the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John’s University (SJU). The Student Employment Coordinator will assign and manage student employment awards, facilitate the student hiring process, manage student employment records, complete parts of payroll, and coordinate training, orientation and award programs for student employees and supervisors.

Responsibilities
Financial Aid/Student Employment

Assign student employment awards following federal, state and institutional guidelines.
Ensure that students earnings do not exceed eligibility and manage requests for award increases.
Facilitate the recruitment, selection, and placement of students in on-campus positions.
Counsel students and parents on student employment procedures (i.e. job search, forms, payroll).
Coordinate contracts with Federal Work Student Community Service partners.
Keep informed of current trends in student employment and financial aid by participating in training sessions, workshops, and/or attending conferences.
Supervise student employees working withing the Student Employment office.
Payroll and Record Keeping
Manage collection, review, and entry of employment and payroll forms for student employees.
Oversee the accurate and timely processing of student payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and campus policies.
Manage background check process for student positions accurately and in a timely manner.
Complete required MN New Hire reporting.
Complete employment verifications for past and current student employees.
Training, Recognition and Orientation
Collaborate in organizing appreciation programs and activities for students and supervisors.
Assist with orientation and training programs for student and supervisors.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Employment
