Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate
Apply Keck School of Medicine Los Angeles, CaliforniaPostdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Zhaoxia (Julia) Qu in the Health Science Campus, University of Southern California (USC), a world-class university located in the City of Los Angeles, California, USA. The Qu group studies lung diseases, particularly lung cancer, the number one killer of cancer patients. Using mouse and human co-clinical models and state-of-the-art technologies, the Qu group is elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying lung diseases development and progression, for prognostic, preventive, and therapeutic purposes, and is developing innovative therapies for lung cancer, the most devastating cancer type.
We are seeking highly motivated, creative postdoctoral researchers with significant experience in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, pathology, cancer biology, bioinformatics, or related fields. Experience in working with animal models (mouse or rat) is desirable but not necessary. The candidate should be able to work both independently and in a collaborative environment. Job Accountabilities:
- Plan, design, and conduct experiments.
- Keep the experimental records and documentation
- Analyze, interpret, summarize and compile data.
- May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols
- Operates and maintains equipment and instruments.
- Help to maintain the lab routine and cleanliness.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education: PhD in biological science field.
Preferred Experience: Experience in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, pathology, cancer biology, bioinformatics, or related fields. Experience in working with animal models (mouse or rat) is desirable but not necessary.

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,008 - $75,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
