Job Description:
Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking a Regional Sales Manager for our New England Region.
Job Summary:
Provide the best customer service possible in a positive and professional manner by being first point of contact for respective sales team. This includes but is not limited to addressing employee issues, involvement in employee development, employee evaluations, and support for goal attainment.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist individual outside sales reps with goal attainment. This includes assisting reps in targeting clinics, holding meetings, event planning, and account management.
Develop the outside sales team, including but not limited to training at quarterly sales meetings and National sales meeting. Ride with each outside sales rep on their route at least twice annually. Document and track performance and provide specific details for areas of needed improvement.
Coordinate with Call Center Manager to foster teamwork. Communicate with other Regional Sales Managers, Outside Sales Manager, and Corporate office as necessary.
Foster working relationships with vendor management and representatives in the region to develop and implement action plans to accomplish mutual initiatives.
Oversee employee evaluations and facilitate efforts for employee development. Coordinate with Human Resources on employee matters such as problem resolution, recruitment, and disciplinary action.
Invest in continuing self-education while expanding personal skill sets. Keep aware of competitive movement in marketplace and communicate initiatives to sales force which may include pricing, marketing, and personnel movement.
Perform one on one coaching on a monthly basis with sales reps reviewing performance, progress on territory plan, previous coaching directives, and corporate directives.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
High school diploma or equivalency is required
College diploma or equivalency is required
A minimum of two years experience within the veterinary industry is preferred
A minimum of one year of experience as a manager is preferred
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals
Superior listening and verbal communication skills including the ability to demonstrate diplomacy and professional sales techniques
Ability to work accurately with highly detailed information
Basic computer skills to include data entry
Must be self-motivated, hard working, and have Microsoft Office skills
Must have valid driver's license and working vehicle
Strong organizational skills
Mental & Physical Demands:
Must be able to handle high stress and rejection
A fast pace of work to meet frequent deadlines
Continuous contact with customers
Regular contact with co-workers
Potential for stress related to a typical customer service problem resolution process
Continuous use of hands for writing and computer keyboard

Ability to work from vehicle throughout the day.
Must be able to fly to vendor training and National Sales meetings

Regularly uses typical office equipment including computer keyboard and terminal, telephone, fax and copier, along with vehicle for sales calls.
Work Environment:
This is a remote position. Travel is required of the position as representation at national conventions is necessary. Work is typically performed from clinic to clinic. Driving is a substantial part of the job.
