POSITION: Part-time Building Janitor - City Hall
DEPARTMENT: Central Services
WORK SCHEDULE: 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., M-F
SALARY: $15.00 per hour
Definition
Employee performs janitorial duties in assigned building with a high degree of proficiency. Duties include, but are not limited to Mopping, Sweeping, emptying trash, Cleaning of restroom, offices and common areas in assigned building.

-Brooms
-Dust pans
-Shovel
-Cleaning Chemicals
-Cleaning carts
-Salt during winter months
-Vehicles that do not require CDL

Physical Requirements
Employee is continually standing, bending or sitting for long periods of time. Moderate physical dexterity is required to sort materials and operate equipment. Employee may be required to lift 50 lbs. or more. Must have the ability to mix cleaning chemicals.
Environmental / Working Conditions
Employee is subject to all types of inclement weather, occasional exposure to fumes, noise, vibrations, dust, and dirt while performing janitorial duties
Essential Functions of the Job
Employees are responsible for the overall cleanliness and condition of the assigned building and grounds.
Additional Examples of Work Performed
-Any jobs assigned by supervisor(s)
-Picking up and emptying trash on outside areas of assigned building to include pubic seating areas and walkways and parking areas.
-Maintain safe walkways during winter months
-Cleaning interior windows, railings and stainless-steel areas
-Cleaning walls as needed.
Qualifications
-Valid Indiana Driver’s License
-2 years’ experience in the janitorial field
-High School Diploma or Equivalent
-21years or older preferred
