Responsibilities



Responsible to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise nursing care of patients within the clinic and over the phone pursuant to the policies and procedures of PrairieCare.
This role is a 0.5 FTE, hours are Monday - Friday, 8a-430p
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Obtains insurance pre-authorizations for medications
Oriented and educated in gender, cultural differences and in age appropriate care for the assigned unit
Assists in medical triage and conducts thorough patient assessment
Communicates efficiently with medical receptionist and clinical staff
Able to provide remote coverage in other clinics
Register and schedule patients for all appointments
Coordinate lab orders and communicate lab results
Ensures medication refills are completed in coordination with physician
Obtains vitals and rooms patients in the clinic setting as needed
The Float position will rotate to various PrairieCare sites as needed






Qualifications



Requires knowledge of nursing practices, which can be gained only through an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure as an RN with the Minnesota State Board of Nurse Examiners is required.

Required to be knowledgeable of and follow the Nurse Practice Act
Must have critical thinking skills and problem-solving ability
Ability to communicate and make safe judgment calls in stressful situations
Ability to do multiple tasks and communicate in a professional manner in both verbal and written format
Must have basic computer skills using Microsoft Office Outlook, EHR, and email
Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
After training, be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients.
