Job Description:
The Dining Services Department at Mount Holyoke College offers a diverse array of cuisines tailored to meet various dietary preferences and needs. Our menu frequently rotates to provide students, faculty, and staff with an expansive selection. The Dining Services Department is committed to providing nutritious and delicious meals that cater to the diverse tastes of the MHC community.
The Assistant Director Procurement Dining Services is responsible for ensuring that the Dining Commons operates efficiently and provides quality goods and services to the community, making them a crucial member of the Dining Services team.
Essential Job Functions:
Leading the warehouse team and ensuring their efficiencies
Implementing procurement strategies aligned with the organization?s goals and objectives
Managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Regularly reviewing contracts ahead of renewals for best practices and industry standards
Oversees the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards
Required Qualifications:
Effective use of standard office technology (e.g., MS Office, email, social media) as well as an interest in and ability to learn new programs
Familiarity with industry-specific platforms and other office equipment to efficiently complete tasks, coordinate group needs, and manage projects
Strong negotiation skills and analytical abilities
Deep understanding of supply chain management principles
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
Knowledge of contract law and vendor management
Experience in procurement within the food service industry
Leadership and team management skills
Familiarity with procurement regulations and practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Hospitality or Food Management
5 years of experience in collegiate or other institutional dining management with 5 years of management experience
Professional training in areas such as nutrition, sustainability, food systems, agriculture, public health, or other related fields
Certifications/Licenses:
Current ServSafe Manager Certification or ability to achieve within (6) months of employment
Allergen Awareness or the ability to achieve within (6) months of employment
CPR Certified or the ability to achieve within (6) months of employment
Valid driver's license
DOT Physical or the ability to achieve within (6) months of employment
Hand Truck and Forklift Certifications or the ability to achieve within (6) months of employment
Minimum starting salary for this position is $87,442
This role is classified under Salary Grade 12S with a hiring range between $87,442 - $106,308
