POSITION DUTIES

  1. Maintain the maintenance of the building and grounds, which includes minor repairs, installation of fixtures, window replacement, etc.
  2. Responds to emergencies in a timely manner under the instruction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
  3. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor regarding status of maintenance supplies, tools and equipment.  Orders supplies as approved by supervisor and picks up and delivers supplies.
  4. Assures completion of basic home repairs which may include, though are not limited to, painting, caulking, minor wall/door repair, electrical work, plumbing and wallpapering.
  5. Buffs and waxes all floors as needed in assigned facilities.
  6. Perform any duties of a maintenance related nature as requested by Maintenance Supervisor
  7. Complete assignments in a timely manner
  8. All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to perform regular and special building maintenance jobs

Ability to work flexible hours as assigned

Able to travel throughout the Hudson Valley as needed

Ability to make minor repairs

Ability to use hand and power tools

Basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical skills preferred

Two years working in maintenance preferred

Ability to work in a safe manner and recognize unsafe situations

Ability to perform heavy lifting

Must possess a valid driver’s license

Grasping/Squeezing:  Frequently throughout the shift

Twisting:  Frequently throughout the shift

Climbing:  Frequently ascend or descend stairs, ramps, and ladders indoors or outdoors

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
