Fairview Health Services Maintenance Helper, Facilities, Full Time in Hibbing, Minnesota

Fairview Range is hiring a Maintenance Helper for our Facilities Department in Hibbing, MN .

As a Maintenance Helper, you will perform a variety of general mechanical and preventative maintenance as directed. You will maintain Fairview Range grounds, including but not limited to snow removal and lawn maintenance. You may be asked to assist in new construction projects, inspections, servicing, repairs, and overhaul of equipment. Use of hand and power tools as assigned. Capable of running errands, making deliveries, and/or pick up materials as directed. Assist in fire drills as directed. Assist in providing security to patients, staff, and visitors as directed.

Schedule: This is a temporary, summer position that will work 72-80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on the Day shift. Weekends: no weekends. This position will be primarily responsible for grounds maintenance which may include lawn care, flower care, and beautification of grounds.

As a Maintenance Helper, you are responsible for:

  • Repairing and maintaining equipment and systems as needed.

  • Follows manufacturer's instructions and specifications in operation, repair, and maintenance of systems and equipment.

  • Providing security for patients, employees, and visitors.

  • Performing a variety of general maintenance, repair, overhaul, and construction duties in all hospital buildings.

  • Assisting other trade personnel as needed.

  • Performing diversified duties as assigned by the Maintenance leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree or extensive knowledge and experience of both hand and power tools demontrated through verifiable work experience with a licensed contractor/construction company.

  • Minimum of two years documented maintenance experience, including electrical, mechanical, and carpentry.

  • Must possess MN Class D driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree.

One-time Reduction

If no candidates meet the required qualifications, consideration will be given to applicants who possess a valid MN Class D driver's license.
