Description

The ANM position provides comprehensive care to patients, while being a leader on the unit. They build a strong foundation of leadership skills and promote the values of University Hospitals. Our ANMs work 50% in staffing and 50% in leadership.

Tower 8 is a 30 bed Trauma Unit in the Level 1 Trauma Center on Cleveland's Eastside. Our patients include Trauma Activations- from the ED, PACU after surgery, the TSICU, and also transfers from other hospitals. Trauma impacts any age or body system. This allows for exposure to multiple specialties besides trauma including ortho, neuro, geriatric, and thoracic for example. Certain needs or devices you may encounter are TPN, tracheostomies, NG or PEG tubes, wound vacs, drains, chest tubes, external fixators, and blood or heparin administration

Position Summary/Essential Duties:

To maintain the nursing staff in all areas as well as to deliver safe efficient age specific nursing care to patient/families. Essential duties include:

1. Routinely provide patient care.

2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team.

3. Maintains employee records.

4. Identifies needs for and provides Staff education/staff development.

5. Participates in Discharge planning, community resource referrals and education.

6. Committee involvement, participate with quality improvement initiatives.

7. Oversees daily operations of unit/area in a cost effective manner.

8. Involved in Community outreach activities as pertinent Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.

9. Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.

10. Displays commitment to the mission and values of the organization
