Copeland Project Engineer - New Product Development in Sidney, Ohio

AS A PROJECT ENGINEER - NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, YOU WILL:

• Provide critical thinking and an inquisitive mindset to global development teams to advance technology development.

• Support internal / external customers and global cross-functional colleagues by communicating technical and project milestones and updates.

• Develop mastery of existing calculators and engineering tools as well as facilitation of creation of new design and analysis tools as needed/appropriate.

• Analyze and quantify value vs. applied cost of compression technologies for system development.

• Apply high degree of independent engineering knowledge to cross functional efforts in technical development and problem solving.

• Conceive and execute development and testing plans based with a mindset towards risk mitigation, and coordinate with appropriate resources for timely execution.

• Apply and support the incorporation of Lean principles and techniques into the New Product Development process.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, another technology discipline or equivalent. No prior experience is required.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Excellent presentation, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

• Proficient in the use of various office computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

• Proficient in the use of various engineering computer programs such as NX/SolidWorks, ANSYS, and Minitab.

• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments with multiple disciplines.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States, unrestricted for an unlimited period of time - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Two (2) years of relevant work experience, including co-op terms, in development of electrically driven rotating equipment or similar fields.

• Proficient in the engineering principles in the areas of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, mechanics, materials, statics, dynamics, machine design, and/or tribology.

• Experience working with and/or implementing lean techniques into the product development process.

• Ability to communicate with technical, manufacturing, and business leaders at all levels.

• Knowledge of thermodynamics, vapor compression cycle & heat transfer knowledge/experience applied to Air Conditioning & Heat Pump systems.

We offer the flexibility of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers.
