    UW Medical Center-Montlake – Central Sterile Processing (CSPD) has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Central Services Technician Lead.

    WORK SCHEDULE
  • 40 hours per week
  • Evening Shift
  • Night Shift  

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Oversee CSPD activities, functions, operations, and services including decontamination and sterilization of reusable items and equipment
  • Serve as a positive role model to facilitate and improve department performance and activities, demonstrate good communication skills, cooperate, and communicate effectively with peer, and managers in order to create an efficient and team-oriented culture within the department
  • Act as liaison between the Operating Rooms, CSPD, and clinics

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prioritize and assign work
  • Train new staff
  • Plan, organize and direct the CSPD staff in the areas of decontamination and sterilization of reusable items, equipment, surgical instrumentation and power equipment
  • Address departmental issues and concerns and establish resolutions in a timely manner
  • Identify gaps and/or problems in communication and facilitate improvement
  • Facilitate and actively participate in effective problem solving efforts to maintain flow of department services
  • Actively identify and facilitate improvement opportunities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Policy and Procedures for departmental operations
  • Insure departmental Policy and Procedures are followed
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as directed
  • Identifying and coordinating with Case cart, Cores, and RN3s to resolve shortages
  • Track activities on a daily shift report
  • Participate in quality audits, identifying training and improvement opportunities for staff

    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Three years of experience performing the work of a Hospital Central Services Technician II
    OR
  • Equivalent education/experience
