Job Description
The Recruitment Specialist will be a member of the ECS Recruitment Team and will work in support of meeting enrollment goals for undergraduate and graduate programs. Primary responsibilities will include recruiting prospective students, including on and off campus events and meetings with prospective students. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Recruitment, this position will support the development and implementation of initiatives for program specific outreach and marketing of new programs and assist in coordinating communication initiatives. This position requires strong technical knowledge, problem solving ability and experience with Syracuse University systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three (3) plus years of experience in college admissions/higher education.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with prospective students across the recruitment cycle.
  • Ability to provide oversight and management of admission recruitment cycle and graduate student enrollment.
  • Ability to travel for student recruitment.
  • Commitment to DEIA and proven track record of working with diverse populations.
  • Experience working in innovative technologies and software.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of recruiting strategy for ECS undergraduate and graduate programs. Serve as a member of ECS recruitment team. Represent ECS for campus recruitment including hosting daily information sessions, Admissions events, as well as external events.
  • Organize and host virtual college wide and program level information sessions for prospective students. Maintain continuous contact with prospective students via e-mail, phone, virtual information sessions. Develop innovative strategies to generate student inquiries and manage communication workflow.
  • Work with Assistant Dean for Student Recruitment to assist in identifying and developing new markets for student recruitment, including coordination and implementation of outreach and yield activities.
  • Work with ECS faculty to support program-specific recruitment initiatives. Identify and leverage marketing opportunities for new programs in support of student enrollment growth. Coordinate faculty activities including institutional visits.
  • Obtain, track, and analyze admissions data, provide reports to program areas to support their recruitment and admission activities, and develop, maintain and interpret data to support recruitment activities and resulting admissions. Compile special reports and gather information as needed by the College and individual programs.
